Internship interview already? Is this the summer or the one year one?

SHL tests available online - do practise these

For the interview, have an idea of current affairs and how they affect world economy, and be prepared to answer following questions:

When have you worked in a failing team?
When have you demonstrated leadership?
What was these name of your previous interviewer?
Why Rothschild specifically?
What are you most proud of?
Your strengths and weaknesses?
Riddles - find these on ibtalk. com

Hi all,
I have few questions and I hope some body can answer.
What happens in the First round?
Do they ask you to do SHL tests on computer?
What happens during the interview? Do they as technical questions as well or just the competency based ones?
What happens for the Debt advisory role?
If you are selected can you start anytime for 6 months?
How much do they pay during the long term internship?
Many thanks
S

SHL paper. The rest depends on the interviewer, but mostly competency based and knowledge surrounding the Bank and their competitors.

So is the level of difficulty same as the test you take on screen with some banks like UBS and others. Can you provide me some tips on preparing for the test.
Many thanks

The test was easier than the online version. Few questions guys:
So what is the duration of long term internship?
And what salary do they pay currently during this period.
Is the salary same for undergraduates and MBAs?
Is it possible to two internships in tandem?
Many thanks

From what I'm been told:
Long term internship is maybe 1yr
Last year they've paid 36k to their interns
Same for undergrads, more for MBAs
Yes.

Rothschild's long term internships are between 3 and 6 months (says on their careers website)

Two internships at the same time is impossible but you can do one at Rothschild for half a year and one somewhere else for the other half obviously. The French firms like their half year internships so look at them if you want something like that.

the others offering off cycle internships were JP and Credit Suisse, but I'm not sure if they took any winter interns on this year. Lehman also used to, but no use now. Other than that, Soc Gen advertise loads off off-cycle internships, but I guess the downside would be that it's as and when they have a vacancy - eg. when you're looking they may not have one in the division you're after.

I'm sure Rothschild used to do full year internships, so it may be worth asking if there's any flexibility there.

They do Gap Years, you might be confusing that for full-year internships. I thought they did full-year internships earlier this year as well when I was applying for them, but no, the website said 3-6 months so I applied for the summer one instead.

Lazard do a full year internship, maybe you're confusing two similar banks.

No I was pretty sure Rothschild did too, but as I said, I'm pretty sure they used to, so it could just be that it's changed.
