Interrupting your studies

I failed the first year of my course at uni but was told I could do the year again, but I was going through personal issues at the time so told them I take a year out and come back in september (now) I paid for a deposit for a house, and moved in earlier this week and today I have found out for taking that interruption year I have to pay a fee of £4'200!! I was never told I would have to pay a fee for interruption , I had no idea! I dont have the money to pay that and I have paid for a deposit for a house and first months rent!... The university is closed till tomorrow. I'm panicking! what can I do? any advice is helpful!
