Shouldn't be. Check with your doctor. I had no side effects from the mmr, and only an achy arm from men C

I had oit when I was a baby and same thing happened to me. I went hospital and was OK. My doc advised against me having another this year for uni because f what happened last time.
I rang the doctor and he said this happens to some people and I won't feel like food for a while
i had my men c one on fri, i couldnt lift my arm past a certain level fri and sat..as i work in a club, it was quite a good idea to get people to take the crates in to the stock room for me, and put the spirits up! haha...even though i did look like i had a sweat problem under my left arm!

had no problem withe mmr jab, but the meningitis c left my arm sore for weeks i spose it didnt help that we all use 2 punch each other ther, back then it was amussing but now i realise we were just stupid

Yes that is stupid. Our school gave aitomatic exculsions for that. Even if you are both doing it "for fun". Quite a few people got excluded.
I just got my second MMR jab and the nurse said that some people have a temperature for 2 days immediately after the jab, then another temperature in 6 to 12 days.

Not feeling too bad just yet, but it only happens to some.

That's the BCG, that is.

Had my Men C a week ago and it gave me an achy arm which I couldn't lift anything with for a couple of days, but no other symptoms apart from that.
I read that some people can get a temperature and it does sound like your symptoms are related, but as far as I know it's a normal reaction for some so you should be ok soon, just treat it as you would when you normally get a temperature and to try and cool it down. Make sure you inform your doctor if it goes on for too long.
I am going for my MMR booster tommorrow, hopefully that'll go as well as the Men C!

***** ME :frown: I'm having MMR on Thurs and maybe polio and Meningitis C I am TERRIFIED of needles as it is without DAMNED side effects....FFS....I'm moving to my new flat and starting uni job on Monday- better be over by then FFS :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:
I had my men c back in year 9! The stupid woman hurt my arm but I was fine after

I haven't had any jabs for uni though, and since I was born in Portugal I don't know whether I've had the mmr, oh the joy

It's all done differently there which is why I had the bcg when I was a baby rather than in year 8 or whatever it was like everyone else :p:
I fainted after my Men C
Was fine for about five minutes after, then went all woozy and fainted for a few minutes. Wasn't feeling particularly for the rest of the day or the next but it went away with no serious ill effects, as far as I've been able to tell...

I got quite sick after the meningitis vaccine :O had a sore throat, then ended up with bronchitis the next morning. Not sure if one had to do with the other, but it was spooky.
I had my Men C and my arm was really swollen and I had a horrible temperature for a few days. Meant I got time off school and was waited on hand and foot by the mother! I may have milked it slightly, but in all honesty, it did make me feel rough for the best part of a week.

Sounds like manflu...don't worry, men get it all the time, right pain in the ass!

I had a achy arm, but tbh, i had just been involved in a car crash, i went in so that the doctor could check out my whiplash and the next thing i know a nurse shoved a needle in my arm when i wasn't looking  Shocking.

All good after a couple of days tho, more than could be said for my neck which took 2 weeks!

I'd guess that any side effects from such injections would stop after a week to two weeks. I also absolutely hate injections, never had any serious side effects like that; i just go all odd cos i hate needles.

I had the Meningitis C one back in like year 8 or 9 that was alrite...BCG one in about year 10 that hurt a bit when they inject you and your arm aches for ages afterwards.

I had that diptheria thingy done in year 12 and that was fine, but i havent gone to have the MMR one again which we should all have had as little children, cos unless uni tells me to i dnt fancy volunteering to have any more injections....So i have no idea whether the MMR as an adult has any side effects, there's certainly a lot of claims that it does on young children.

Have people been 'summoned' to have them? I've been ignoring letters since June 2005  My friend hasn't heard anything and also *HATES* needles and so is wondering if she will be asked or if she has to willingly go which SO will not happen!!
Some, but i dont think many unis require that all your injections are up to date so you will not get ill. However, my uni hasnt requested me to as of yet, and so if your friend hasnt been told she absolutely has to then she doesnt have to go and get it done.
