Please help

This is a two part question, i managed to do the first half but i cant do the second.

A small canister is attached to a helium-filled balloon and released from rest at ground level. After 4 seconds it is moving vertically upwards at 6m/s.
(a) find the height of the balloon and canister after 4 seconds, stating clearly any assumptions that you make

for this i did:
s=((u+v)/2)*t
S=(6/2)*4
S=12m
now i know this is right

When the balloon reaches a height of 27m it bursts.
(b) find the maximum height reached by the canister.

please help me

When the balloon reaches 27m it will be travelling at a certain velocity that you can work out.

Then at 27m the balloon bursts and the canister will continue going up initially, but now moving freely under gravity. So you need to work out how far extra it will go.
