oily skin

i have really oily skin which sometimes makes my hair look greasy because the oil gets into my side fringe lol and looks disgusting!!
i have tried loads of oily skin but then it gives me dry skin which is like flakey (not v. nice)
ive also been to the doctors and they said its just your hormones or something and illl grow out of it but i hate it argh!!!!!!
is there anything that anyone would reccomend to try and get id of my dilema???
Well I expect you wash your hair every day? As if it is long you will need to for sure. Maybe there some hurby stuff. I cant remember the name but stuff like that can work.

My stongest advice is just get water to your face and hair. Maybe swim a few times and have a shower. Just dont aggravate your skin to much mind you. As that could make it worse.

I have this problem. I use this mattifying gel from the body shop but my skin is still really greasy by lunchtime. You can get these blotting things like little pieces of paper but i haven't tried them so don't know if they work. Have you tried using a toner, that's supposed to help.

Listen up, all you oil slicks. The bad news is you are currently in shine hell.
The good news is you will have beautiful skin when you're 40.
Trust me.

i find the moisturisers for oily skin help me particularly the No7 one from boots.

Have you tried the face powder things for oily skin? They help take the shine away from my face, although i must admit hair still gets greasy fast. Washing hair regularly is all i can say for that dilemma.

My friends use powder to soak up the oil... they say it helps. And the hair, um... try not using conditioner on the scalp (if you're doing that that is).
Try using dry shampoo on your fringe when it looks greasy - £1.99 from Boots, can't go wrong

Pressed or loose translucent powder can help, as can avoiding oil-based foundation or make-up.

those blotting paper things are really good, you can get a sort of booklet of them from superdrug I think, they feel a little powdery to the touch but you can actually see the grease on them so you know they really soak it up. Superdrug do some that are about the size of a credit card that you just tear the slips out of and you can carry around.

i've got some of them, which are great. Feeling they were from la senza though, a long time ago.

I really love the Garnier Pure range, use the facewash first thing in the morning plus the moisturiser if your skin goes the other way and gets dry, and as someone else has already said, if your skin's oily by lunchtime use blotting paper, the Body Shop do tea tree sheets or the Superdrug ones are good too. Also use a facemask once a week to unclog your pores - I like Superdrug's Strip Tease one (plus it's only 89p) and I also use their tea tree nose strips to get rid of blackheads. You could also try steaming your face above a pan of boiling water with some tea tree oil added - although be careful not to scald yourself. The only tips I can think of for your hair are to grow out a fringe if you have one and perhaps use slides or a cute alice band to hold your hair off your face? Also if your hands tend to get dirty or greasy, wash them regularly with an antibacterial hand wash and avoid touching your face or hair excessively. I'm all out of tips! But I have the exact same problem and am consoled by the thought of looking much younger than my friends when I'm 40

benzoyl peroxide works a treat. it clears up spots and makes it non greasy.

clinique pore refining serum. just apply it all over your face after moisturising and it seems to keep it matte for a while.

trust me, i have tried everything!
