Hey, just giving this thread a little bump in the hopes someone will see it and reply

Have you found University Connect yet? It's super useful for finding other people on your course/at your university!

I go to Reading. It's a great uni and the course is really good, supportive, helpful etc. It's really good socially too. Do you have any particular questions about it?

Yeah it's good you came to visit us, the campus and area is really nice and I think you can only sort of gather how nice by actually visiting the place! I'm doing the English specialism.
If you're studying primary education ... it doesn't matter.

Hi, I am studying primary Ed at Bishop Grosseteste Uni in Lincoln and its a lovely, small university if that is what you are looking for. It's not very well known but has very good feedback and I love it so far.
I got rejected from Sheff Hallam last year, and my mum is a primary school teacher who knows the admissions guy. In her experience, most students from there have not been guided through very well and are not very good to put it bluntly. She has had many conversations with admissions about the poor standard of teaching at Sheff Hallam and it is not fair on the poor students, so personally I would not recommend that university. I also applied for Leeds Met and was offered an interview however I declined it as I was not keen on the lecturer I met at the open day. He seemed full of himself and was trying to put people off applying by highlighting all the disadvantages of the course. (Such as the work load and 'hardcore' timetable).
I have not had much to do with the other universities but I would highly recommend that you go to all the open days and go to all the talks and tours too. This is the only way you can get a feel for the uni, and also the course as the content varies massively from one uni to another.
I hope this was useful and feel free to ask any more questions.

I'd agree with the above, I had a letter from Sheffield Hallam and it was written all in capitals with spelling mistakes! I went to an open day and it was that disorganised I left. It's a shame really because I'm from Sheffield and it's a great city to study. I went to a Leeds Met interview and it was okay but a bit out of the way and the area isn't great. Not sure about the others. I'm studying at Derby at the moment and love it - the lecturer's are brilliant and it's well organised. The campus has just been completely redone and the library's massive, you don't think it if you don't go. (You can do a specialism if you pick the option to do it in 4 years instead of 3).
