Possible to do A level economics from home? (Self teach)

My college doesn't do economics and that's a subject that I have interest in and from what I have heard it is liked by UNI's. I was wondering if I'd be able to do it from home. I'm doing maths, law, sociology and media. I don't really like media and sociology. I was thinking if I drop media now and do only an AS in sociology so I can do maths, law and economics next year. So is it possible to do economics from home? If it's like law that you need to know your facts if be able to do it. I have really good memory and I can learn things easily. What's it like, how many exams etc?
