The Student Room Group
I've heard there is no parking as they don't want all the students in leeds to drive as it's busy enough already, plus you'd find it hard to park at the uni anyway. I'm not plannin on drivin at all when at uni, with all the drinkin n all, think it'll cost to much anyway...

Theres 10 spaces at opal so have fun fighting for a space. Almost everywhere in leeds is walking distance so you wont really need a car. Also, Leeds is a nightmare to drive around, anyone I've ever talked to about driving in Leeds have all said the same thing, it's quicker and less stressful walking.

If you want a space you have to apply after you move in. 10 applications will then be drawn out of a hat and the "lucky" 10 chosen will still have to pay £40 a month for the spaces. Basically guys... it aint worth bringing a car. Just sell the car and use the money for freshers coz your guna need it! muhahaha

i'd suggest finding somewhere else close to park your car. i didn't live in halls my first year and not been able to take my car was one of the main reasons, i travelled home a lot a weekends to work so i kind of needed it. as for parking up at beckett park, its not that hard to find a space and should be easier this year as they are moving more students down into the city centre to cloth hall court and i dont think many if any are been moved to beckett park.

road side parking in the surrounding area doesnt require a permit as far as i know.

Dont take your car to Leeds, especially if your at Becketts Park, They've actually removed all of the parking around the acre, so theres even less spaces now, It was bad enough last year.
hey i'm staying at Opal and am i certainly taking my car despite everyones warnings. i simply NEED it. i've done a little bit of research also and a found a few handy parking spots around Opal Court which don't require any permit or pay & display ect.

also any concerns about parking at Beckett..no worries just park anywhere around the headingley student houses and walk through the side streets.

i spent a whole afternoon driving around leeds getting used to the roads and looking for alternative routes/car parking spots.mission accomplished!.

wacko.
