Dating A Celebrity - No Joke

I get on really well with the singer / front woman of a goth band, and we have loads in common, and she's not based that far from either of my locations.

The thing is, should I ask her out, but risk letting her down cos I'm at uni, I'd not be able to go to all her gigs, and I'd probably only really be able to see her at weekends and my days off uni. Or should I just go for it and see where it takes me?

Also, is it worth the relationship when there is all the media attention? And I'd have to have my make up perfect all the time. I can cope with the being goth all the time in public deal, and I am able to drive a hearse, so I could pull it off if need be.

Go for it. Experience, if nothing else. Good day to you, sir.

Experience isn't what I'm looking for though. I don't want to let her down or be an absent boyfriend.

I'm just looking for people's opinions on if it is worth having to be in the public eye for a relationship. I'm not camera shy or anything, but I don't fancy being looked at through a lens, not with my lifestyle.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Go for it.

don't want to piss on your parade but celebrities are only people, and there are no goth bands that are really in the public eye.

Anyone that can use Shakespeare in a post about a relationship, and not quoting from Romeo and Juiliet has gotta have smarts. Though I have to admit, it's the best way I've ever been told to go for it with a girl.

Nicely done dude, nicely done.

I know celebrities are only people, that's how I treat them n everything, but she's been talked about a fair bit. I know it's not gonna be papparazzi wothy in the least, but last thing I want to do is end up getting my ass arrested or something for being extremely drunk and embarrasing her.

over the years i've socialised with a fair few minor 'celebrities' and a few higher profile ones, and there has been no press attention when we've been out.

It depends on how famous this girl is tbh. If it's someone like Amy Lee from Evanescence (who aren't really that goth, but I don't know any goth bands), you're both a God and a ****** if you don't go for it. If it's someone who's totally non-mainstream, and nobody outside of goth culture will have any idea who she is, then I'd just treat it like any old relationship.

My pleasure. (Now, let's pretend that I don't know it by heart.)

this thread was a cry for attention, shameless boasting.

Reply 11

This was not done out of boasting. I do not like boasting about things, which all of my friends will vouch for. She's the first celebrity that I know, and I've seen her in the papers, so I assumed there would be something. I don't know because I have no experience in this area, hence the post.

And to the Anonymous user, I think you may be right there as my goth friends all know the band, and have the songs, but I've not checked as to her fame outside the goth community. They're not that mainstream like Evanescence.

And Profesh, if you know that by heart there is one of a few things I can say to you. 1 - WOW 2 - You must seriously love Shakespeare (can't blame you though) 3 - Have you got a photographic memory? LOL
