The central bit of town, where Chads, Johns, Cuths, Hatfield and Castle are. For want of a better term the bit between the bend in the river.

I'm a bit worried about whether I've chosen the right college because I haven't had a chance to visit Durham (it's the only one of my 6 I haven't seen but I'm about 5-6 hours away by train so it would have been a bit of a trek!). When I visited Cambridge I completely changed my mind about which college to apply to so I hope Durham's not the same!

I got 2 letters (exactly the same) from Durham today - just saying thanks for applying etc.

I'm a bit confused about a letter I got coz its not very direct, but I think it means I've more or less got an offer? "You will soon receive a letter from the college where you are presently considered for admission, inviting you to come for a visit...We invite only candidates to whom we intend to make an offer." It's not as direct as most unis who tell u there decision in the first line.

How long does durham take on the train from London?

I am just rejected by maths department of University of Edinburgh just now~~~
NOW I totally is not optimistic of that I can offered by Durham!!!!!
The entry to Durham is much more harder than Edinburgh.~

Wow people are getting durham offers (am v jealous).

I rang the admissions office and they were v helpful and I managed to change colleges. yay!

dunno if this has been mentioned before...but do Durham give out offers/rejections on weekends?

i was sick the last couple of days (Wednesday-sunday) and had to stay at home..and was checking UCAS Track lilke every hour...do i have to keep this nerve wrecking procedure up on the weekened :frown:

Every hour!! OMG relax, you might have months to wait yet. Getting yourself into a state about it isn't going to help you pass your A-levels

How about limiting yourself to once a week?
Or just ignore Durham track. It's slow and pointless.
