Not necessarily true - someone could have been at the top of the pile of NatSci applications whereas you may be at the bottom of the pile of Maths applications. There's no fair or unfair about it, it's just life and you'll hear from them eventually. Remember that the UCAS deadline isn't until April, so you potnetially have a LOT of waiting to do.
Offer today for Human Sciences  BCC!
I've applied for MMath at University (castle) anyone heard much as far as ooooooooffers goooo?
hey...I know this has been constantly constantly asked on here, but I want to ask if "your application has been recieved by a college" DEFINATELY means you're going to get an offer from a college at somepoint? ie have people had there Durham track status as "received by a college" and then been rejected? thanks

(from the Durham Track page)
"If the department decides you are to receive an offer (or be invited to attend an interview) your application will be forwarded to a College. If you have stated a College preference the form will go to that College for consideration, provided that the College has space available. If your preference College is unable to make you an offer, your application will be passed to a second College selected by the department. The first and second College will be selected by the department for applicants who have made an open application."

So basically, you've got an offer - well done!

i dont agree, the website also says that consideration is made by both department then college, and if the college rejects you it is true you will be passed on to a second college but it doesn't say anywhere that if the second college rejects you that you will be offered to a third. although it's unlikely that two colleges would reject you after the department accepts i wouldn't want to completely get my hopes up because there is still, however small, a chance that it might not result in an offer
If you are accepted by department you are in. End of.

What college is still up in the air but they will find a place somewhere.

Either that or all admissions tutors here have told me the wrong thing.

I'm sure it actually explains this in the prospectus. Once the department accepts you you're passed onto your chosen college, who accept you if they haven't already filled up their quota for the subject. If they can't take you you're passed onto a college that hasn't filled its quota and voila, offer. It's not a case of the college choosing who to accept.

I'm just really eager to know from Durham the most out of my 3 unis that have yet to reply.

No doubt this has been asked countless times before, but when are offers for English (particularly those who are applying for deferred entry) likely to be made?
