I very nearly applied to Chad's, I've never been but from wiki pics it looks cool, and the covered quad thing sounds nice. Oh and the typical menu (or whatever) is described on the website... I rather liked the sound of that!

Congrates to all offers!
but where is my maths offer?

Chads is small, has an underground bar, a cool building, is central to the bailey and often serves good ale. What else do you need to know?
PS: Noone but noone likes college food.

Why do you think I chose Cuth's in the end? Mmmm... self-catered option... :p:
Not that I can cook. At all. Well maybe a bit. Or not.

Hey everyone! Woo my 1st post, I can FINALLY comment in these forums n comment bac 2 sum of the total few losers who go on about the underlying 'secrets' of the bullet points, and if in interview they say 'hope to see you next year' = you have got in!
Anyway I have applied to Combined Social Sciences at Hatfield (any visited there?nice?)

AS: Maths A, psychology A, biology A, Applied business A.
A2: Predicted the same I think (unless my fabulous biology teacher decides to estimate my potential as a C again and/or messes up our coursework.. again!).
Unis: In preffered order
Cambridge (maudlyn)for SPS: Interviewed
Durham (combined social sciences):tongue:ending
Manchester: AAB
Bath: BBB
Cardif: BBC

Also applied for a veterinary gateway program and then withdrew application preety soon after when realised I wanted a broad education about many World issues, rather than just gaining knowledge about the insides of animals! (no offence vet students)

Anyone heard back from combined social sciences?

You're not likely to hear back from that department in a long time, it's one of the most popular departments at Durham and doesn't give offers until around March, maybe February.

Anyone from KEGS is obviously an idiot.
I applied for English at Castle, post A Level, and Im hoping the fact that I have 4 A's in the bag will mean they overlook the fact I havent got 6 A*s at GCSE (that was the reason I got rejected last year for History, was told by admissions person that they had a 6 A* tariff!!!)

Did anyone by any chance get in for English this year, last year or year before with less than 6 A*s or know of anyone who did?

There are a few people on TSR who have had offers for English (some at Castle, too, I think), but this is quite unusual at this stage. Most decisions seem to be made by the English department after all the Oxbridge decisions have been made. I'd say Feb is the main time to be getting worried...

Btw, I didn't know about this 6 A* policy (for History, English, or any other subject at Durham)... do you mind me asking exactly how and when you found this out? It seems a little misleading that it isn't made clear in their prospectus.

AFAIK, the 6 A* policy is only for history, although I could be wrong.
I've got a conditional offer (AA) to study English at Josephine Butler.

I'm American and just moved to England this year with a few AP grades in tow, so I'm doing two fast-track A-levels (English and Law) and an AS (Media Studies). I wasn't sure how well they'd think of my application, so I'm really excited to get an offer as Durham is probably my top choice right now.

Just recieved a letter from St Chads and I've got an offer for Geography (woo-hoo!!!), perfect timing for christmas! Does anyone know what St Chads is like, in comparison to other colleges etc? Thanks

I've applied for Chads too as my bro went there and loved every minute! Still no offer though.....hopefully soon!
What did you apply for?

Hey,
just to say I applied for Law at Durham and had a conditional offer of AAA for Trevelyan - there don't seem to be many Trevelyians around??!!?!
