****, that's really sad, I read an article about M.E. today, it sounds like an awful illness. I know people who've had it and have really struggled.

Anyway- I hope you sort yourself out because if people felt you were capable of doing 6 A levels, you must have been onto something special.

Clearly working too hard is really quite bad for you...

Hah, sorry, that was a bit of a downer, wasn't it. It is a bit crap, but I'm sure it'll work out fine in the end, somehow. And thanks

God- I empathise so much, but you realise that if we want to join the Bar, we're gonna have to change? It may have seemed a reasonable excuse to say we didn't work hard when we were 15- but it's just **** now. We've gotta get down to it.

But ye- hit the nail on the head.

Yup. We are truly gonna have to work our asses off. But I can always put in the effort when it counts, like when my History exam came about. Spent most lessons asleep/drunk, revised 18 hours the day before and got 100% . I'm good under pressure, so hopefully I'll at least sort-of cope with the degree lol.

Dudette, there's nothing wrong with trying hard. Hell, even I try hard when it comes to the crunch. But what seperates those Oxbridge dead-certs from us mere mortals is their seeming willingness to work non-stop, irrespective of whether they have a good time or not. For me, work still comes first, but I don't have what it takes motivationally and work-ethically to push myself to achieve my very, very best. As in, non-stop weeks of work slavery.

Hm, I have overworked in the past and it wasn't fun. But I don't think ALL Oxbridge people work like the above.

I wish I could have done what you did Danny and got 100%! Well done though.

Does anyone else feel slightly worried that they're not going to get the grades?

Definatly, but I think its normal. Im just finding that this year my class (and myself) arn't covering anything. I keep telling my self if I don't get the grades I don't deserve to go to uni. I think thats the way to deal with it and that if u don't get the grades ull probably end up somewhere reasnable anyway.

Well, a lot of the stuff I am covering I don't understand that well, but that's because we're whizzing through everything.

Person over the road from me had M.E. and missed 2 years of school. Not nice.

I didn't chain myself to anything/one to get the results I've got so far, although that may change come university time...

My Dad said that by the first term of his second year he had worked out that he was a term and a half behind

mart
Yeah, just because you are both applying for the same course doesnt mean you will both be rejected!

Turns out you were wrong. :p:

Better day of than day b4. At least you won't have to be revising all day and can go out for a l8 night on ur 18th. Always look on the bright side (unless u have an exam the next day as well:rolleyes: )

No, thankfully. My next exam is another History one 10 days later!

It was just nicer last year as I finished the day before, and I could fully relax.

I don't think positively, haha :P
I am sure Dur are rejecting what appears to be *all* their Combined Arts applicants - MAYbe there's no course at all and it's all an elaborate plot to test the breaking point of poor, desperate students...

or maybe not, of course hehehe

Why does Durham find the need to reject everyone! It's worrying if there is any students at Durham at all?
