Cheers. It still was a bit of a sad moment seeing Unsuccessful come upon track. ;_;

I applied to Classics and English and Classical Studies at Bristol and Classical Studies at Exeter. I don't even know why I put anywhere other than Bristol down though. :s

What's wrong with it?

Note that with many other colleges you'll have to go to the Psychology building up Cardiac Hill whilst from Aidans I think you can cut through Collingwood.
i can not say that i'm particularly impressed by durham's offer-letter-slash-package that i received in the mail this past week. i was expecting more than just a booklet/pamphlet from grey college and two pieces of letterhead.

comparing this to my birmingham/leicester packages which contained residence information on top of enough persuasive literature to fill an entire bookshelf, i feel slightly disappointed to have had opened a package i was expecting for so long, only to find the sort of paucity i just described.

and no. the empty feeling in my stomach was not due to an oversubscribed fad diet or even worse, voluntary starvation...

hrm...interesting.

Maybe Durham doesn't feel it has to work as hard as the other two unis to attract people? Not that that really excuses them though!

It's because you don't sort out any accommodation stuff in Durham until after results day in August, because as a first year you're automatically assigned accommodation, so they won't send you much until you've met your offer now I'm afraid.
I wanted to be in a bailey college which ahs old buildings and more history and I'm just a bit dissapointed! Do you hear of people changing college?xxx

I feel exactly the same; I would've loved Castle or Hatfield for the history and architecture. However, after really researching into the colleges, I found that there were easily enough things about Van Mildert that beat Bailey colleges hands down to put that one down instead! The architecture is horrible compared to the other two, but I absolutely love the college in spite of this! You should research into Aiden's a little bit more. If in any doubt, go to the open day!!!

Couldn't have put it better myself. Please go to the open day if possible, you'll probably end up loving Durham and the prospect of Aidan's. :biggrin:
I've done a bit mroe research into and had a good look at the JCR and college pages and going through the prospectus trying to see if St. Aidens beats the other colleges in my opinion and it does some of them! I've already been to Durham and adored it but the course isn't as good as it is at other unis which I have offers from and I think it was the castle I really fell in love with! I will definitely try to get to the open day!xxx

Well, I guess I can stop stalking you and trying to force you to come to Durham now. :p:
Good luck in Bristol, I'm sure you'll love it! (but you would've loved Durham more....:p: )
