This is a very lame question but i dont actually care, what are people wearing for the formal on the open day ?

No it's a normal thing to ask about. Formal clothes are just smart clothes, so some shoes, a skirt and a top for girls (you can wear smart trousers if you want) and generally a suit for boys. This varies from college to college, however, but if I remember rightly, you're going to Chad's so what I've mentioned is good. No pashminas or slouch boots though. ;no;

Maybe not at Cuth's! Probably not in fact. As I said, it varies from college to college!
But you'll never know now anyway. :p:

What are slouch boots?
Hey potential Durhamites. I got an offer from Stephenson College (yes, a Queens Campus college).:frown:

I would like to know which is the best college in Durham Uni (in terms of the hardest to get in and academic & sports performance)? I know that the answer could be from a subjective point of view but...I would like to hear from you all.

AFAIK no college is 'harder' to get in than another... it just depends on whether they receive your application before their quota for your subject is filled...
ugly boots that arent straight to the leg they well slouch as if some one pushed the top of the down. im sure you could could get pretty slouch boots ive just never seen them

Maybe most blokes think the word has positive connotations...

comparing this to my birmingham/leicester packages which contained residence information on top of enough persuasive literature to fill an entire bookshelf, i feel slightly disappointed to have had opened a package i was expecting for so long, only to find the sort of paucity i just described.

And yet you will find the reverse when you get to university. The intellectual calibre of the universities wil be in reverse to the amount of packaging you recieved.
Got my offer for Combined Arts on the 16th! Grey all the way! Veeeeeeeeery happy about it. Just wish Durham wasn't so close to my home town - my parents would visit me all the time if ended up at Durham :frown:

I can only hope this personal hypothesis of yours will turn out to be true! Having already completed a degree, I now look forward to attempting a second one; however, my primary determining factor in choosing the institution that I will choose to ready law at, is by far, the level of academic astuteness and proficiency that you speak of.

Will Durham deliver?

I'm generally taking the piss with my posts but in all seriousness the order of ability of students and quality of course+prestige goes as follows:
Durham
BIG jump
Birmingham
jump
Leicester
