^ Phew, that was close  What didn't you like about Hatfield?

i just didn't like the social atmosphere. It's hard to put my finger on what exactly. It felt like some of the people there had lived very sheltered lives not in the real world and i had the feeling that i would have to change my personality to fit in. Everyone seemed very polite and nice just the people i talked to had different sense of humour and got overly excited about little things (eg the spooning thing). Also v.different backgrounds, which may be a slight problem when it comes to making friends. it also felt a little claustraphobic just after the one day and I wouldn't mind it for a week or 2 away like a holiday camp, but for 2 years nope, not for me. What college would you recomend as more relaxed and more people and more diverse?

H&B is very big and I doubt you'll feel claustraphobic. How about you visit each College?

Mildert!!! 'Comp on the swamp' all the way
Just found out I've got an offer from Collingwood for Computer Science (07). YAY. I'll be seeing you in a few months, eggman and WokSz.

w00t well done! But what made you turn to Collingwood? Also, how did you add the coat of arms in to your siggie? I need to represent Hatfield!
It was kind of an arbitrary decision. I didn't have any great reasons to pick any of them over the others, but Collingwood seems nice, it's next to the gardens, its accommodations look nice, it has a new gym, and it's close to the science buildings. So Collingwood.

Nice! I only picked Hatfield because it's very traditional and has formals lol. I know I'm a sellout.
I'm not a big fan of gowns. Two or three megaformals is enough for me.
I can imagine the novelty of gowns wearing off after a few dinners.

Can anyone tell me when the Durham colleges send out accommodation forms/welcome packs etc? I know it's once everyone has their A-level results...I'd like to at least have a rough idea to make sure that I'm not away on holiday or anything
