At Cuths you can go for self-catered, and if do you can pay for 5 or 10 meals in hall a week too if you want (something like that anyway). That's one of the main reasons I went for Cuths, I don't think I'd cope with fully catered but I think I'd end up eating pretty badly if I had to sort out every meal all the time.

Ooo that sounds good , coz i was worried that the atmosphere wouldnt b as good coz its like a brand new college isnt it .... i definatly want to have self catered .. it confuses me that u have to get accept by the course and a college does that mean that u could end up with an offer but for a fully catered college? Yes can u tell im panicking
I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to do French Russian and German and go to Trevs... but I'm afraid it might never happen! And I want it sooo much!!!! How is everyone else getting on with offers from them??
Dont think Durham really give out offers yet. They are renowned for being qutie slow. Welcome to TSR though btw if it helps 61.6% of applicants to the MFL course get offers.
Quick question - has anyone recieved their confirmation letter yet from Durham? A friend recieved one this week (though she is applying for politics) and it mentioned that offers are now made by the college, not the department? Slightly confused - can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks

A little confusion on your friend's part methinks. The college you get into sends you the letter, but the department is the one who accepts you into the university.Once the department has decided to accept you, you have an offer from Durham. They then pass on the application to the colleges who send you the acceptance letter. Hope that helps clear things up.

Thank you - now I can breath a sigh of relief too!!
I'm applying for politics and got the letter too. It does sound confusing and makes it seem that the college has a part to play in you getting a place.
However this is not true, the addmissions tutor at the open day said if the department accepts you they will find you a college place somewhere.
definetely philosophy anyways and i believe the college number was 4, if anyone would care to enlighten me!! i'm sure there was reasoning behind it at the time
i have no letter, no email, no nothing....getting scared now!

Yep that's Cuths. Feels so wrong not having applied to number 3... I even applied to number 3 at Cambridge, though it wasn't anything to do with it being my favourite number!
Isn't that weird lol cos I always feel a pleasant calm when I look at the Campus Codes, I chose 4 (Trinity Hall Cambs) and 2 (Hatfield), I like that because they are both even numbers and 2 squared is 4 and stuff like that. Weirdo.
