I have done AQA AS History and got 53 in one unit and 55 in the other giving a total of 108 UMS and a D grade.

I was expecting at least a B and was pretty surprised about the D. I'm considering a remark but since my current marks are not very close to a C I'm scared my grade can drop if I lose just a few marks.

Would anyone recommend a remark and does anyone have any experience with remarking this year and how it went?

Are you planning to carry this subject to A2?

At the moment I am doing History at A2 but with a D at AS I'm realistically looking at a C or a B with a lot of work. That's why I'm thinking of a remark but scared in case I lose a few marks and drop down to an E.

I got a B at AS this summer but my results were very strange - I got an A in one paper and a D in the other. I was expecting an A, especially considering how well I thought the exam went (the D grade one!) and I've found a lot of other people at my school that are also in this position. I do Edexcel history and go to a high-achieving school; our head of history was surprised/upset at the results this year.
I'm getting a remark, and if it goes down then you can always just retake it! I'm assuming you've considered retaking the AS, because like you said, you can realistically get a B/C but with a LOT of work at A2.
My friend got a B in the AS two years ago, and had to work phenomenally hard to get up to an A from that.

Be quick though - I think remark forms have to be in tomorrow!
