Hi.
I'm struggling a bit with the listening aspect of French GCSE. I'm at A* level with all other aspects of the course, so I really don't want this to drag my mark down, especially considering that I am planning to take it for A Level next year. Is there anything I could do to improve my listening, eg. Books with tapes, online resources etc.?

Thanks

Hi,
I got an A* in French at GCSE, and an A at AS and I'm still studying it at A2.
I'd recommend you to go on french news sites and they usually have podcasts attached to it with an audio version of the daily news in France. Although it is quite fast, picking up on key vocab really helps to use the same skill in your exam.
Also, the BBC website has a very good French learning page for GCSE students, it's called "Ma France" if I remember correctly. That too contains many podcasts on several GCSE based topics which can improve your listening skills.
These are 2 of many sites but I'm sure if you simply type 'French audioclips' you'll be able to find many more.
Bonne chance!

Try listening past papers, you can get them off your exam board's website, as well as this listening to french radio and watching french films with English subtitles can help. The only thing you can really do is practice, but keep at it and it should get easier.
