hi there, i have started A-levels a week or so ago and was just wondering:

What are the best textbooks to buy, in terms of extra revision, extra help etc. so that i can guarantee that A* (at the end of A2, and an A at AS).

i do:
Physics (AQA)
Biology (OCR)
Chemistry (OCR)
Maths (Edexcel)

thanks

I did Physics and Maths with the same boards you are on.

For physics I would personally recommend the CGP Physics textbook (not revision guide).

For maths use the official edexcel textbooks. (Slightly expensive though, £45 for C1 + C2 + Additional module i.e. M1/S1/D1)

These books got me A's, and even 100 ums in both C1 and C2

I do OCR Biology, and got an A last year. Alongside the official textbook, I used CGP's student book. It lists the specification points on each page, which were generally closer to the spec than the actual textbook. It's also full of exam questions, should you want to use them. Well worth the money.
