It did make national news, but I don't think anyone was ever told they couldn't wear it.

Reply 2

It did kick up a fuss, however as far as I am aware, nothing final was done about it.

I tried to wear a radioactive waste clean-up suit on religious grounds, but they weren't having any of it. Fascists.

You see where you went wrong there was you shouldnt have had the protective breathing mask on, next time just wear the white suite.

School boy error.

I mate of a mate doing his PhD at Oxford now, was once escorted off Campus due to him wearing a sandwich board (over normal clothes) advertising his band gig. Now thats fascism.

you hear about the oxford student that called a policemenas horse "gay"? lol

Facism as they arrested him lol

Yeah I heard about that, very funny. and to try and get him off, his mates tred to persuade that he wasnt a homophobe by then getting off with his mate saying that they were lovers. Brilliant drunken logic.

Reply 8

flexiblefish...do you think that wearing a hijab is acceptable as you say you don't? This is tantamount to rudeness you even called it a Niggab. What si going on in this bloody country where I cant where my british hijab without some foreigner saying i should take it off who is probably not even muslim.

imperial yes like star wars that type!

The fact that you're calling British people foreigners despite the fact that you live here is pretty telling.

This is unbelievable...how DARE you insult me, and call me those names like that? I can't even wear my british hijab without all of you telling me to take it off if i DARE visit imperial college where it is banned for all the immigrants like me...immigrant from oldham. Unbelievanble.

Reply 13

What names!?!?! Should you not consider your words more carefully
British Hijab
foreigner
. You are refering to british people in their own country. If a christian went to a predominately Muslim country and refused to take their cross of would you like it if they called you a foreigner? No one is saying you cant wear it, the people above were supporting you and you made fun of them which is impecably rude. (sp? on the impecably)

I am sorry but you sound very confused.

Phew Im glad Im not the only one not knowing what redadair is going on about. cheers Muhammad Abuzaid.

My original post back in september was about ICs policy, and how I thought it was stupid ruling to ban wearing certain items (including hoodies which can be bought on campus).

I dont even know where this thread is going now.

Redadair, if you would like a civil, constructive discussion about ICs policy, then please go ahead. I for one will be on the side that anyone should be able to where whatever they like on campus, i.e probably on the same side as you. by the way, who insulted you and in what manner?

No problem flexible. Also notice this is her first post lol. She signed up just to post stuff that doesn't make sense.

Reply 17

I wear the hijaab (just headcovering...not face) at IC. No problems or struggles encountered whatsoever.
@Redadair- what precisely is a 'british hijaab'?:confused:
Oh and i forgot to mention that the 'face-covering' one isn't permissible within IC due to tight security purposes which i personally think is reasonable.

Oh my oh my oh my. A british hijab is one that was born and raised in britain and wants to be in britain, but can't ever be in britain because of tony blair and the jack straw saying that it limits relations. They might as well come out and say they think we are all going to take off our hijabs and blow them like a suicide bomber.

Once again I have been turned becuase it was my first post. Well let me tell you something that just becasue i am a newcomer it doesnt mean that i have to be abused and just because my british language isn't as eloquent as anyone elses - i was born and raised in pakistan, does that make me a bad person? No, but evidently i'm not welcome in southern universities where I am banned.

How did this ever happen?
