Can good A level results completely over-rule GCSE results?

These were my Gcse results:
English Language A* (four off full marks)
English Literature A
French A
Religious Studies A
Geography A
History A
German B (after starting from scratch in year 10)
Maths B
Core Science B
Additional Science B

Believe it or not, I was actually a little disappointed as I had high aspirations to go to one of the top Uni's. I'm doing English Lit, German, History and Politics for my AS levels - if I get good grades in them (working my butt off already), will I have a realistic chance of getting into a Russell Group Uni?

Thanks

You got 1 A*, 4 As, 4 Bs. I got 2 A*s, 6 As, 2 Bs (virtually identical) and got A*A*A at A-Level and about to start at Oxford... you'll be absolutely fine!

They are good GCSEs. And yes they an amazing set of a-levels you can go anywhere. :h:

Russell group easy :-)
It's only really Oxbridge and the top London unis (LSE for instance) that focus on GCSEs.
I was in a similar position to you.
