How much does it cost for a locksmith to open locked doors?

Quite alot, I think.

Also what would you do if you found a set of keys on the ground (I suspect mine fell out of my bag) xx

Keep 'em for my collection.

If you check on yellow pages, the locksmiths there will charge something from £35 - £50. When it happened to me last year, I went to this place which werent proffessionals or anything and offered to drill the lock and put in a new lock after the door is opened. They did it and charged £5! good luck

That's a bargain, that is.

Mind you, he probably subsidises it by selling copies of your keys on...

Sorry forgot to mention I'm in Australia, but I'll just x those prices by 2.5 to be on the safe side

If your renting the flat/house why dont you contact the landlord. Surely they will have a spare set of keys.

They're ALL the way in warm, hot, Darwin

I'm at freezing cold Canberra, current temperature being -1 degrees celcuis.
^ You're so lucky, I wish it was -1 here in England :frown: I'm form Siberia and I physically need -20 to -40 for a couple of months each year... But -1 would be great too.. Can't wait till I go to Russia for Christmas! Snow & -30, here I come! Lol!

Unless you had a keychain with your address attached to it, I highly doubt that anyone will break in (or come in). So I assume the problem is that you can't get in and out of the house? Your landlord must have a spare set of keys which you can make a copy of

My dad's normally very easy going, but not when he has to spend $200 on locksmith operations

Plus he'll make me pay him back. I need to stop being so absent minded.
