I hate my family

Hi there, I come from a dysfunctional family - parents are divorced, father re-married but there is soo much bitchyness!

Like for instance everyone on my dad's side of the family treat me as if I'm sort of leftover from the 'last' marriage, and they joke about how 'oh I bet you love your new mum, not' it's very sad.

Mum's side of the family hate me too, as I'm a reminder of dad

Anyone else similar to me?

Anyone? Also I have a half sister on my dad's side who's apparently so much better than me and my other sibling.

Yeah I just really don't like my family :frown:

They don't hate you and you don't hate them.
How old are you? Sounds like teenage angst

No in early 20s, but this stuff happened when I was 16-19 anyway, so still having side effects.

Thankyou TKR  If you're being sincere, I appreciate it x

That's donkey balls. I feel bad for you, but it doesn't mean you can make friends outside of your family who will love you as much as, or possibly even more than, your family do.

There haven't really been any divorces or re-marriages in my family (except for my uncle, but he's only just had his first child with his new lady).

All of my family (except for my sister) think I'm fantastic, and I can't really blame them.

Mr. God, if I were your family, I would most definitely love, cherish, and generally just spoil you with the goodies you deserve.

Stop talking and make love to me.

seriously though

which side do you live with if any? and which side is richer?

if the answers are the same then cut the other side out and butter this one up as much as you can, preferably by being bitchy towards the poorer half with the rich ones

My extended family has lots of problems with favouritism and stuff. I'm lucky as I'm one of the favoured ones but I have an Uncle who is treated very badly by my grandparents.

If you don't think you can work things out then just focus your attention elsewhere. It really sounds like you're better off without them.

Do you have good friends? A job? If so then try to think about your future rather than your past

Dad's side by a long shot :yy:

Lol I like you, you're rad xx

You know, the other thing to remember is that you've got the one shot at life and if you're gonna let their issues mess up your life then you're really not doing yourself any favours. If they don't like you then **** them and go out and do well for yourself anyway.

But I do like the getting-in-with-the-richer-side plan. You don't really have much to lose by the sound of things. It sucks that they've treated you like that, but it doesn't matter if you don't let it get to you! Good luck!

:frown: sorry to hear that, you're so young and that big part of your life seems messed up! Makes me feel lucky and grateful for having a good family, although it is not your average "Mommy, Daddy and me" kind of family either. :hugs:

ya. i know. sucks. my parents did not divorce. but they are different race. father white. mother oriental. that mix did not go down well with either of their families... everyone hates each other!!hahah

what to do !! who cares. i personally don't think extended family is NEEDED. mama+papa are more important than any aunts/uncles/cousins, whether they are separate or together. don't let it get to you. it's not gonna ruin your life. let them bicker away to themselves and be bitter. you, go ahead, ignore, screw em all. carry on loving the parents and forgetting everybody elses gripes.

Oh I forgot to mention I'm mixed race too, so having the 'rents being racist to each other after the divorce was twice as fun! :frown:
