Dorm life?

Hi, I'm thinking about studying the joint English and Classics degree at Bristol (even though it is about two years off for me) and I was wondering what dorm life was like in a single room? My parents were trying to pressure me into student housing but I can't cope with living with strangers. At least with a single dorm you've kind of got your own space? I know there's the noise but i can easily put some headphones in and crank them up or go to a library.

There are dorms for all types of people, you even have to specify what type of person you are so they can match you with similar people. But i can guarantee you will change your mind and want to be in halls by the time it comes around.

I lived by myself. Its great. I also lived with others too and that can be alright, depending on whether you know them or not and how well you get along. I preferred living by myself though, more peaceful.
