They can only help. It would be less a matter of noticing a positive effect, but rather noticing the lack of negative effects from not taking them.

Personally, I think its all a big blag and just a big con. Along with most things sold to aparently boost your health. Such as friendly bacteria and omega 3. Added to all sorts of crap products just to sell a couple more of them.

Saying that though, I still take the multi's when I'm feeling hungover and things... just in case it does work! wheres the harm eh?

Unless you were deficient before starting to take them there are unlikey to bring on a benefit. Personaly I belive that they are useful only in specific circumstances like for people who folow restrictit diets due to for example fool allergies, pregnant woman and nursing mums or people recovering from ilness or suffering from poor apetite etc It is much better to get your vitamins from natural sources like fruit and veg then relay on the tablet.
I take them on the grounds that they don't do any harm and they might do some good

They actually made a really big difference to me as I dont eat red meat. It depends on your diet.

I notice this thread hasn't been posted on in ages :P, s I thought I'd bring it up - I started taking Multivitamins over winter to help with my moods, and when I ran out - it was really obvious!

example fool allergies.

I admit to avoiding fools, but I wouldnt say I was allergic to them!!

If youve got a balanced diet and not been diagnosed with low levels of anything then I doubt they do much good, but people take them when they are feeling down for an extra boost, so maybe they do have an effect?

imo taking vitamins in foods is so much better than the pills. It seems a bit ironic to be eating junk food and then pills to compensate. Just eat more fruit and veg, drink water, excersise.
Pills aren't going to give you a miracle cure.

Threads which are old and dead are that for a reason.
