i got CEEE.. i couldve carried on A2 but resat all AS units with A2.. i decided to resit year. my dad said if wasted a year.. and if i dont get good grades this year he doesnt want me to carry on in education. i am capable i got A*A*AABBBBBBCC for gcse without working that hard.. i was just unmotivated towards the end.. will resitting a year affect my chances of doing a good course

Yes it will affect your chances, but not nearly as much as continuing and failing A2 would have. I was in exactly the same position as you except I got BCEU in IT, DT, Physics and Maths respectively. I chose to resit the year knowing that had I carried on I would have likely failed A2 or ended up with C's or lower.

I've just finished round 2 and came out with AAAA in Computing, DT, Physics and Maths with a 93% UMS average. I'm applying to ICL, Bath, Bristol, Sheffield, Loughborough and MIT (bit random) to study mechanical engineering. I fully expect to not get an offer from ICL but hopefully from at least 2 of my other 5.

If you get motivated now and put the work in then it will be worth it. If you don't then you will fail just like both of us did the first time round. I fully expected to breeze AS the first time round as I did reasonably in my GCSE's without any revision at all (AAAAAABBBB) but it is impossible to do well with no work during A levels.

thats great! do u think i made the right choice.. and will it affect me alot applying for engineering or optometry. given i get all A's at AS..
