I would

Would you?
Maybe for the experience.
Not for me. The money and car are great but not enough to compensate for the work you'd do: too boring and I'd rather earn less (possibly) and have a great experience in the City.

Great scheme, though!
The benefits seem good but I wonder what the work is like...if it's anything like what I've experienced in retail so far I'd rather start on £18k,no company car and have an enjoyable job.

Naturally, it depends on the work I'll be doing.

Got a mate who works for them. Joined as a grad a while back, worked his balls off for a while and then made a rather interesting sideways'n'up position jump internally. From what i hear, it's a role people would double his experience would find it hard to get.

I wouldn't knock the firm/'work' or turn them down on the assumption it'll be more boring than working for a FTSE100. It's all the same (boring) stuff, and you know what they say about being a bigger cog in a smaller machine...
If you are interested in retail it sounds like a very good scheme. Unfortunately I'm not interested in retail.

i would!!! it must be one of the highest starting salaries goin for graduates. bet it's competitive tho. the other retail programs only start at £22,000 - low in comparison - so it's definitely worth goin for. xx

38k starting salary is absolutely massive, particularly if you don't have to work in the city. What sort of work do you do?

Lidl has a similar scheme (was looking on prospects.ac.uk), I dont particulary want to work in retail but I would for that starting package

Yea...I like it.

I would love to earn that much.

You have to be prepared to move around though, and you probably wouldn't be based in London.

Err believe it or not London is only a tiny part of the UK :frown:.

You say it is if a bad thing.

No one said they wanted to be based in London?

I was just pointing out that there would be a lot of travelling and you have to be flexible.

And lots of people want their jobs to be in London.

That is all.

Went to a presentation today which was by Aldi, explaing there grad scheme. There benefits i.e. salary is highest in the country, and the possiblity for promotion is extremly likely and fast. Although the job its self, puts on lots of pressure on you and big learning curves.

Seems attractive to go for in my opinion.

With a metropolitan population of around 12-14 million, and being responsible for 19% of the British economy, I'd say it was quite big.

Lol, yeah. But size isn't everything...

Personally, I'd love it if i could do my job somewhere outside of London - somewhere nice like Bristol. London is a dirty grey stinking sprawling mess..and expensive. Imho.
do they eman you jus ttravel aroudn the country or you actually have to MOVE every so often?
