HMRC Graduate Programme (Tax Professional) 2014-2015

Hi everyone!

couldn't find the official thread for this year's cohort so thought I'd start one.

Hmrc begin taking applications from midnight tonight - who's applying for the scheme this year?

After not being sure what I wanted to apply to during my final year and not thinking I'll end up with a good degree, I didn't really try hard on my application.

I really want to get on this scheme, I strangely really enjoyed learning Revenue law!

Anyway with my 2:1 firmly on my certificate I'm full steam ahead in applying for this year!

Hey there
I got a 2:2 - was 3 marks away from a 2:1 - soooooo frustrating !! Anyway now I've graduated it leaves me plenty of time to focus exclusively on applying for grad schemes - I'm fired & ready to go! Well done on your 2:1 and good luck with your application I think we're all gonna need it as I know this is a very competitive graduate scheme
Has anyone got a link the actual registration page for this scheme as I can't find it.
Thanks

Ah, that's annoying! I don't know how I managed my 2:1 since I got a really low average 2:2 in second year. Even looking at my marks and how it was weighted still confuses me!

Still, they printed it on the certificate so it's not my fault if it is wrong! Lol.

I, too, Alison can't find the link to apply for the scheme! Maybe they'll publish it at midnight tonight ?

Oh, I've just started to apply, then realised I can't do much as I'm on my lunch break at work! Need my laptop in order to fill in my employment history.

If you go onto the civil jobs website you should be able to search for the link. What I did

Hey guys, the link is up. you have to go and search it on the civil service jobs website. I just completed my initial application and got an invite to the 'sift' test.

Its titled as 'tax specialist' rather than 'tax professional'.

Hope that helps.

Applying for this… apparently taking more peeps on this year (well according to their Facebook page!)
Silly question. Can you apply to this if you graduated 2 years ago?

They are taking on 250 for this years intake. I think it was 200 last year? Considering I'm being overly optimistic and really only want one location hearing an increase is a good thing!

Do people with a 2.1 have a higher chance of getting on the scheme than those with a 2.2 ?
Hey guys, just completed my application and I've been invited to do the online tests. How's everybody else finding the application?
