Nothing on TSR is the representation of the normal population.
Pretty, because how others perceive you physically is harder to manipulate than how they perceive you mentally. Plus your intelligence is something which resides in your head, so it doesn't matter so long as you know you're smart, whereas prettiness is on the outside for everyone to see and so it'd be nice to have that appealing appearance while you work on your smartness which nobody really cares about from a first sighting. Basically so long as you know your smart, it literally makes no difference what others think. But a good appearance affects you because people treat you differently based on it before even knowing you. I'm a guy though :P
