I got semi-weak AS grades and i don't know how optimistic or realistic i should be about my next results. Before I got my results I was looking at AAA grade universities. However on results day i got BBCU and I've continued with the grades BBC.
I'm going to be predicted AAB. I'm studying History, Sociology and English and want to study History at university.
I still don't know how realistic i should be about the universities i apply to or if i'll get into any universities with my AS results i received.

A couple of AAB universities are fine, probably a mixture of ABB/BBB/BBC then depending how confident you feel. It depends what you like and how likely you are to meet those predictions. There's no point applying somewhere you don't want to go, but equally applying to five with typical offers of AAB is going to put a lot of pressure on you.

I'd probably go with AAB/ABB/ABB/BBB/BBC or thereabouts, but as I say it does depend on where you want to go. AAB/AAB/ABB/ABB/BBB is fine if you think it's pretty set you'll get ABB, maybe BBB if it's a bad day. Obviously, steer clear of any that want a fourth subject at AS. If you think AAB is actually terribly unlikely then i'd only apply to one max, or not at all.
