I'm in year 11, and one career path that I was seriously considering for a while was clinical psychology.
The thing is, I'm not sure how sucessful I'd be with finding work with a psychology degree, so I looked a bit at doing a medical degree and then specialising in psychiatry (or maybe neuroscience). I'd also like a more patient-orientated job, even though I would quite like to go into academia once I have a fair bit clinical experience (if I'm not at retirement age )
I think I would enjoy doing a medical degree, and I get fairly good grades, so I think it's a viable option. Maybe.
I want to go into psychiatry as a medical specialty because I think you get a nearly unique insight into people, and I really want to go into treating mental illness because I guess you learn a lot about human nature, and I would get a great deal of personal satisfaction from it.
I'm more interested in the opinions of people who have knowledge of or experience in psychiatry, or just people with opinions on the subject

    Just... OPINIONS
