When asking someone you like out (romantically ir not) observe the 3 C's...

Confident - Make it sound like he's needed, but not essential e.g. "I could use a second opinion on x, and I know you can help..."

Concise - Don't write paragraphs of information, just a couple of sentences.

Calm - This also applies in text, despite popular belief. Don't freak out, for example by forcing a compliment if that's not your style. Don't flirt unless you're flirty.

Finally, if he's slept with you he probably finds you attractive, it doesn't sound like a one-night-at-a-time thing. If he likes you for sex, you're better off than some.

Maybe, though I sent the last message which he has seen but hasn't responded to. I just don't want to come across as desperate.

I realise now it was a mistake to sleep with him, this isn't usually like me I'm usually a sex in relationships only kind of person so I don't want him to think me messaging him or inviting him places is purely so we can have sex, but I don't want to be like "yo be my bf?" because that comes on way to strong and he might now be interested in that.
Maybe he isn't interested in you anymore because you gave it up so easy.
