I was very good friends with a girl a few years back, we were such good friends that I thought there would never be a time we wouldn't speak.
During that time I let her borrow a necklace of mine, and because she was moving away I let her keep it so she can remember me at all times (sounds very cheesy I know)
We completely stopped talking after she moved away, just wished each other on our birthdays and checked how we were doing once in a few months.

She's come back for the summers and lives literally 2 houses away from me but neither of us are making the effort to meet each other. We've spoken about how we should meet up but it's pretty obvious that we don't really care if we meet up or not.

I just remembered that the necklace I let her keep was a gift from my father and he recently asked if I has lost it or something. I felt really bad and thought that I should ask her if she still has it and if she can return it, the problem is that I would get really offended if someone gave me something and then asked for it back so I don't know what to do.

Should I ask for it or should I just forget about it?
