They are losing lots of sales and are getting poorer than before. Compared to MS/Sony.

I got smash bros 3ds in the japanese version, it's awesome I must say. Very much like brawl.

Wii sold amazingly but Wii U sold completely ****. I think sony literally destroyed it in sales.

Hopefully some new games like the new smash will bring life back into the wii U, seems like they are steadily getting back on their feet.
    The top article is outdated.

They can afford to lose a lot more money before becoming poor. 2015 will be a good year I imagine. I returned my Wii U when it first came out but will be buying one for Smash Bros. Also pre-ordered New 3DS from Japan.

3DS XL is amazing for smash bros. The WII U will certainly rock.
Just waiting for the My English 3DS Smash to come out so I can play online.

I don't like the new 3DS because more games will develop features for that which makes me feel I am missing out -_-. But it will attract more devs. I can't wait to see what they have in store. Professor layton and Phoenix wright are also both amazing

Hello newbie and welcome on TSR!

Why I love video games? that is a good question. Its the simple game play in the genre jump and run which made so much fun in the past.

Why'd I love games ? Here's some of the things I get from some favourite games of different genres.

    Dark souls 2(difficult RPG)
    escape into the fantasy world.
Strong Sense of achievement from overcoming difficult tasks.

    Age of wonders(turn based strategy/adventure)
    Achievement from winning.
Escape into a world of exploration, story etc.

    Diablo 3(action rpg)
Sense of progression with minimal skill/effort is relaxing.
    Socialising with other players

Starcraft 2/counter strike(highly competitive real time strategy and fps)
Adrenaline rush/Strong sense of achievement from beating other players online.

I play to de-stress at the end of a day. I like games with stories that engage me, I like strategy games that make me think about what my next move should be and I also like simple games that are just fun to play! A good soundtrack is also a plus, in my opinion.

Do you think about classics like Terranigma, Illusion of time or the secret of mana? perhaps I'm toooo old school. All of them are SNES games...

Its even very important in my opinion! every single good game has a good soundtrack at least. Without them gaming makes not so much fun.

I play games as an escape from reality, as at the moment my reality is really boring. In games I can go on an epic adventure in games like Zelda and Skyrim and slay dragons and be a hero. In racing games I can be a successful racing driver whereas in reality I'll never even set foot on a track (unless I went on a track day). Games are fun, games are challenging (at times), games take you away from all the rubbish/stress you may be experiencing in your life and place you in another reality to make your own.

Sounds sad but without games I'd lead a more boring life than I currently do!

I play games because why not? who wouldn't want to be Marcus Fenix? Masterchief? the vault hunter? plus through gaming I can see just how far technology has come and I find it truly fascinating. I mean have you seen the water and effects on some of the latest games and how real they look? Its amazing!!!!!!!!!!! ^.^

Unfortunately I only got into gaming around the release of the GBA. I fully intend on playing the classics sometime in the near future though!

I agree with you on that one! One of my absolutely favourite soundtracks is the one from Bastion. I ended up standing still for a while and just listening the first time I heard "Build That Wall" in game! :P

And where do you would to play the classics? by good friends who have retro consoles at home?

The soundtrack from Bastion which you mentioned sounds nice.

There are many ways: buy the old consoles and games; buy them digitally on GoG.com, PSN, Xbox Live etc.; emulate them.

Emulators do not cause the same feeling like playing on consoles. It makes the play so nostalgic.
