Hernia? watch

    • Thread Starter

    Hi guys.
So I've had a terrible pain in my naval (belly button) for 12 days now, getting so bad last week that I had to have three days off school - which is a pain as I've only just started my AS levels.

Pain isn't as bad but there was a bulge that has been there for three days now. I went to the Doctor just now to have it checked out and he said that, it was a small one, I had an umbilical hernia. Apparently, the next course of operation was to have an ultrasound to determine how big it is an whether I need to have a full blown operation (like what my Mum had years ago) or whether it can be pushed back by my GP.

Question is, has anyone had either of these things done to a hernia? How long is recovery time and honestly how much does it hurt before and after (I'm being serious)? Do I need to prepare myself for a stint off sixth form?

    Thanks guys
