Looks like you don't need me any more!

For both of you though (regardless of whether you go together or alone) I would recommend Couchsurfing or youth hostels for your trip. I prefer Couchsurfing, as you get a local point of view (and it's cheaper) but hostelling is good for meeting other travellers.
Thanks yea couch surfing sounds good , and I mean I don't know about Ipapper but I wouldn't mind more people, wouldn't want it to get huge but like say 3 people would be good, safety in small numbers haha. Will you be having a gap year at the same time as us then ?

I'm doing this but I will only end up with a couple thousand pounds. I will travel around America but by plane and stay in hostels.

I'd rather stay in luxury and get a few months than get the whole year in hostels. Not for me..

I'm also doing a gap year and I am really interested in inter-railing round Europe as my cousin has just done it with his girlfriend and they said it was amazing! I have no one to travel with as most people are at uni or don't have the money.. Just wondering when people are thinking of travelling? I'd like to go in the first few months of 2015 because I am working in Lapland for christmas and want to do summer work. I would love to have company when travelling and getting to know knew people is always good fun!

Hey, I'm planning on doing a gap year on my own next year. I want volunteer with ICS as you can make friends who are also on gap year. That will be 12 weeks in country hopefully. Then I wanted to work a lot and do a few internships to save up for uni and more traveling later. I think inter-railing trip sounds cool around Europe but I would have to work for some months to save up. Then hopefully Camp America to finish it off All a bit vague right now but hopefully I can start planning more precisely soon.

Sounds like an in depth plan!

Well we'd love you to do AmeriCamp? For internships in Australia check out AusJob. Oh and for volunteering in South Africa click that link.

Either way good luck and Happy New Year! x
