dont really understand

well before i posted a thread about talking to this lad who is deaf and cant talk at all. but i really like him. you said to talk to him and make an effort and sign to him if i can. cos hell appreciate it.

well today i did just that, i signed to him. this is what happened.

during todays english lang break i sat outside the classroom in the english department with a friend and he was sitting there also with his interpretor. we got talking. my friend talked to him normally. and the interpretor signed to him what she said. he signed back and she told my friend what he said. i signed to him and well he was a bit unresponsive. i thought if i made a effort to sign hell appreciate it but he was more interested in my friend who was just talking normally. well perhaps i should have spoken normally but i felt bad cos it was me who made the effort and it was me who liked him :frown:

I dont really think you can judge whom he does or dosent like from 1 conversation. Are you actually trying to be his friend or just trying to pull him quick'n'easy?

I think he wants to be treated like normal people. He must have got offended when you started signing to him showing that people must notice him being deaf and signing. Next time, you should try talking to him and see how he reacts. Good luck :p:
