What can I do?

To stop my self becoming increasingly homophobic. You may laugh. But I am a gay guy who happens to beconing more alienated with the whole thing. I get scared of drag queens as in the past they always try to feel me up and they have no morals what's so ever - so it seems. campness from guys turns me off and away from them. I get scared sometimes. I hate the thought of most gay lads looking at me. Many of them are very bitchy too.

I've been to a few gay clubs/bars and didn't really like them. I am no friend of the 'scene'.

I am not happy with the way I pecieve most gay men. How can i stop my self from literally alienating my self? I just want to accept, and not become one of them my self.

Its sad that the general image is that most gay men cruise,are camp etc. You dont have to be a part of a scene.So your gay...that doesnt mean you have to endorse something you dont feel represents who you are. There are loads of other people out there like you and you will find them. I suggest joining your local LGB soc (if you can) and talk to someone :smile:

Just be yourself.

my friend is a homophobic gay man.

he is not camp in the least bit, and doesnt really go for any camp guys.
seems to cope ok

Well... theres no need to feel that you have to be like them just because your gay. You should realise that they are only part of the gay community.

And just like with your normal friendships, there are bound to be groups of people you just don't click with. Rather than think of those people as gay people, think of them as a particular group.

Well the gay scene (eg. bars and clubs) is a bit absurdly out there.. like heaven in london or g.a.y... there are naked men on the dance floor making out with eachother. Not exactly most ppl's dream exactly.. but yea its probably really normal not to like the whole "oh look at me im a more womanly than angelina jolie and i like to get shagged from behind by men" image

What can I do?
