I'm 19. GCSEs A*-C. 3 A levels around 300 UCAS points . AAT Level 3 in accounting. I chose not to go university despite being accepted.

The first question I have is I applied for level 2 apprenticeships but nobody seems interested in me and I do have some work experience. Why not?

I can't find any higher apprenticeships. Is there any open in September?

I have no career. But have the qualifications. Any advice would be appreciated. Should I approach firms directly and ask them?

Could you be over qualified for the level 2 apprenticeships?

A lot of apprenticeship programmes will not open until later on in the academic year. Have you looked at http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/be...prentice.aspx? There will be lists of current vacancies on there.

I thought I could just take the AAT route to becoming charted but no luck getting a higher apprenticeship. I'm willing to do anything now. Could I not do a level 3 in IT or something or is it useless me applying because i am overqualified. Frustrating nobody even replies because I already have A level and a level 3.

    Hey there,

Just wondered if you'd checked out http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/

There are loads of opportunities here.
Also, have you looked at the AAT page on Higher Apprenticeships? http://www.aat.org.uk/qualifications...apprenticeship

There is an AAT advisor using TSR, so you could get in touch with them here - http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/member.php?u=1232470

Hope this is useful and good luck with what ever you do

Have you tried applying for the big4 school leaver schemes? You seem to have the prerequisite grades for them.

I don't think I stand a chance with top 4 if I'm being honest. But no harm in trying.

Hi vivaronaldoo, I myself was looking at apprenticeships a couple of years ago and finding them on your own can be really tricky. If I were you I'd chat to an AAT advisor (Live Chat on the right hand side of the page) - I've met the team and they're really helpful about this kind of thing.

Alternatively, I know our team work really hard to match the right people to the right opportunities, so you could always pop your CV over to us?

    Best of luck finding something!!
