contact lenses

Has anyone here worn glasses and gone onto contacts, ive been thinking about it, what would you say? Do you prefer contacts?

Yup. I did. Contacts are so much better-I look better than I do wearing glasses. They don't get wet when it rains and they're more comfy.

The downsides: If you have monthly ones and they get lost/broken/dry out cos you forgot the solution you don't have them anymore! They can be tricky to put in/take out sometimes. You might not be suitable for contacts/you don't get on with them.

Worth trying out though! :smile:

yes i had glasses for about 6/7 years and now wear contact lenses. I prefer them but mainly just because i didnt like wearing glasses also the little annoying things like when you walk in a warm room your glasses steam up and they get dots on them when they rain etc :biggrin:

I would say try some contact lenses if you want to they are hard to put in at first but after a while become really easy when you get use to them. You also dont have to wear them all the time so you could wear both your glasses and contacts if you like wearng glasses.

I switched from glasses to contacts and it is better. They wont fall out once they are in unless you attempt to rub them out deliberately. Once you get used to them they are easy to put in and out but still take time and you do need to remember to do it before going to bed so you dont sleep in them (especially risky if you are hammered). You look better, can play sport and go to gigs and see properly without needing the glasses which tend to get smashed into your face. Slightly more expensive than glasses etc etc.

Contacts are by far better for all the reasons people have mentioned. Only thing is, you do get addicted to them in that you NEVER want to wear your glasses again! I hate wearing my glasses now so I tend to over wear my contacts a bit! They are a lot more convenient though!

Yeah, I prefer contacts. I've never had those monthly ones though, I use daily disposables. Really comfortable, and you don't have to worry about cleaning them or anything like that.

I leave mine in constantly for 2 weeks ish, theyre brilliant, i always felt like there was a barrier between me and the real world when i worse glasses, now i am happy :smile:

and find them easy to put in/take out after the 1st couple of trys

I wear glasses sometimes and contacts sometimes. I look better with contacts but glasses are just easier to put in. I wear dailies and I have yet to get my in-out technique perfected.
