Acne on back

Hi there
I've been taking oxytetracycline for my acne for a while now, and for about 2-3months, i've been using a cream prescribed by the doctor. While the acne on my face has cleared up a bit (thought not completely), the acne on my back is still there quite badly, especially in one big patch in the middle. Should it be clearing up too or are the tablets only for the face? Should i go and see my doctor again as the acne is quite bad on my back?
thanks

I'd go and see your doctor again, he'd know more than us.

I do know one thing though. One of my bodybuilder friends gets acne quite bad when he uses certain steroids on a cycle, and he uses Accutan to keep it under control, and he says it's excellent.

You can get it online from there.

Note: I have no personal experience of it myself, and I would still recommend going to your doctor instead.
Exfoliate in the shower, then dry off and apply lots of weak glycolic acid lotion (<10%) and weak benzoyl peroxide lotion (<5%). Avoid wearing coloured shirts, this stuff'll bleach them. That combo worked really, really well for me. No more spots on my back.

why are you guys so worried about acne on your backs? my boyfriend has quite bad acne on his back, but he never thinks twice about it. i certainly don't.

but you want to know the best remedy?

sunshine

we recently went on holiday to spain, and during that week, his back really came up quite well.. they didn't entirely go, but i'm sure another week there would have meant they were gone.

I reckon half of that has to be not wearing a T-shirt all the time, so the grease and sweat doesn't clog the pores so much.

This summer has been CRAP down south. We haven't had any proper sunshine in about 2 months.

Fine for me because I hate excessive heat, but I imagine most people will have been pissed off big time.
Exactly the same thing happened to me. My face was never really bad at all, and the tetracycline just took the edge off, combined with panoxyl 2.5 so now I just get the occasional annoying spot.

But the back just hasn't changed at all. I went back to my doc and she is referring me to a dermatologist to get roaccutane. Maybe you could do the same?
