Imperial girls

I know its said again and again but is it really that noticeable that men outweigh women at ICL. I really like the look of the Imperial chemistry degree and the opportunities it provides in industry, however, im a bit worried ill be stuck around guys all day, for e.g get to my accomodation and find out like there are 5 girls out of 30 ppl. Is it just a stereotype thats become embedded into the ICL reputation that just wont budge, or it ICL severely male dominated?

What does it matter to you. Are you that socially inactive that if your in a place which is seemingly male dominated you cant go to a place to meet some more?
well im not a girl, and im going to imperial... so i guess im just another statistic!

Who cares if it's male dominated or not, it's LONDON ffs.

You get used to it very quickly. And on the plus side, when you get out of college into the 'real world', you're pleasantly surprised by all the women out there. :p:

Just try and get a bunch of housemates from RVC. It'll even out your life

Imperial is imperial! You can't not apply there just because the male population is more in that particular uni. Like wineblood said, it's London!

Btw I'm a girl.

The male:female ratio is not a good parameter to base your university decisions on, not least because it makes you look a bit foolish if you decide on a university by the number of women that are there rather than the positive benefits it will have on your career. Imperial is surrounded by some of the most trendiest places in London (Notting Hill, High St. Ken, South Ken, Knightsbridge etc). A short walk to any coffee shop and you will find many women to chat with if thats the way you like to do things.

You'd be making a very big mistake if the bad male:female ratio is all you can find to make you not want to go to Imperial. I should also remind you that the overall ration is 2:1, it is just in some horrible courses like computing and maths that you get silly 10:1 ratios or something. Most of the courses are fairly in line with national averages for science courses.

actually i read somewhere that its something like 70:30 which isnt so bad.

think about all the hot guys honey! girlfriends are everywhere, but you get a lot of choice when it comes to guys with a nice ratio like that

personally i was thrilled to hear about it. (trust me, finding girlfriends isnt a problem even in the deepest parts of africa, but finding a good guy can be)

amen!
Umm you should take it into consideration. No offense but trendy girls in Notting Hill don't want to date Imperial students. They would rather date an Imperial graduate working in the City than a second year student with no money. Think about it. Your best bets for girls are other UoL students, to be perfectly honest.

Exactly wot do u mean by this comment?! Are u trying to say that most men are desparate and would quite happily go out with any girl???

FYI, from a guys perspective, finding the right girl is just as hard as finding the right guy from a girls perspective. So I suggest u rethink that statement...

"The money doesn't matter to us, if the guy is right." - About 98% of women I've ever spoken to. Hmm..

Do you really think anyone would say different. And I don't think it's so much a matter of bank balance as the things that go with that in terms of clothing, etc. In any case there are plenty of non-Imperial students in London so why worry! And if all else fails, you can turn queer and blame it on colledge experimentation!

Well, I don't know why you're bothering with Imperial. Looking at your other posts, it seems you're pretty much preparing for an Oxford entry, and there are loads of fit geeks there.

And anyway, according to this, we're the best looking... Imperial FTW!!
