Quick question - TK Maxx returns

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd give asking this question here a shot as - for once - google hasn't been able to save me. I bought a pair of shoes from TK Maxx about 10 days to go out in; I know myself very well and since I didn't wear them that first weekend (frothing at the mouth with excitement about "MY NEW SHOES") I don't think I will. So I want to return/exchange them, but have lost the receipt. I've turned our flat upside down looking and it really is lost. I paid on my debit card so obviously if I need to trail back through that for proof of purchase I would (but would prefer not to!) but has anyone else been given an exchange for other goods without a receipt? Their website's official line is "goods with a receipt and tags within 28 days", damn. Otherwise I guess they're ebay bound!

They're unworn and still have the sticker/tag thingies on them.

Cheers in advance, luvvies!

I'd take them back and see, if I were you. Is it a long way to your nearest TKMaxx?

I'd asume like most shops they would did an exchange or a credit note, if not a refund.

Yeah, I'd have thought they would too until I checked their website.

kyanya - it is quite a signifigant journey, may as well give it a shot though. I could get loads of yummy bargains in there for the price of these goddamn shoes. But they were calling me... as shoes do :p:

They wont give you a refund without the receipt/proof of purchase, no shop will.

They might give you an exchange/credit note though without the receipt. Some shops are a bit funny about giving anything if you havent got the receipt, but you might aswell try.

You could try the old "I got given these for my birthday, but my aunt who gave them me doesn't have the receipt but they don't fit and I'd like to swap it for something else instead"

But maybe that only works at christmas (when you say christmas not b'day)!

I remember a while back my mum brought something from TK Maxx which she decided to take back. It still had the tags on and was unworn but she had lost the receipt like you. TK Maxx didn't have a problem and just gave her a store credit note to the same value of the item.

Therefore you should be able to get a credit note or an exchange on the item.
