Our school wouldn't let people apply to the same college for the same subject (to be fair, we don't have that many applicants, so its never really an issue.)
You'll both probably get an interview, so if you both impress them at that, then you'll be fine - but if I was in your position, I'd still be quite tempted to apply elsewhere.
