Confused with this sentence

I want to say England is the most beautiful place in the world in French and I thought it was:

l'angleterre est la plus belle pays du monde.

But my friend reckons it is:
l'angleterre est le plus beau pays du monde.

I'm really confused now, please please help :smile:

And how would you say ''My dad works there''?

Your friend is right, it's le pays- although you realise you're actually saying England is the most beautiful country in the world, not necessarily the most beautiful place. Although arguably 'country' makes more sense.

Mon père y travaille. (The pronoun always goes directly in front of the verb. I hope this is what you were looking for!)

L'Angleterre est le plus beau pays du monde.

Pays is a masculine word, so you must conjugate the adjective with it (=beau).

2nd question: Mon père travaille là-bas.
