White lumps

Don't worry, this isn't nearly as scary as it potentially sounds.

Anyway, I occasionally get little whitish-cream lumps that come up from my throat (The biggest ones are about the size of this ----> o, and I can usually feel them coming up).

After a while of keeping it, it goes brown and shrinks on itself, and it sometimes smells like bad breath (Sorry, I know this is gross, but I'm telling it like it is).

I asked my mum what she reckoned it was and she said hard phlegm. I don't think so, though.

What do you guys reckon?

I'm never ill when it happens , though.... :s
They sound like tonsil stones, or calculi (plural of calculus). They form when a little tiny bit of food gets caught in one of the "crypts" i.e. folds of skin, in the back of your throat. The body coats it with hard stuff and it sticks to the back of your throat. Apparently they're pretty much harmless and you'll grow out of it. Try using Hydrogen Peroxide diluted to the correct strength as a mouthwash, which should help.
(I know this because my sister had them for ages, the GP didn't know what they were and we found an article on Wikipedia).
yep they're called "tonsiliths"

I thought you said tonsilitis. That was why I mentioned that I was never ill when they happened.
hehe thought so, did you look them up? there was a thread about them ages ago here too if you want to look at it.
Yeah, I did.

From what I've read, I seem to get off quite lightly with them.

Do you have the link to the thread, BTW?
