Hi I've just started my BA Illustration course - which I chose to study instead of fine Art because I assumed that it would give me a better chance of being able to work in the design industry and work commercially. However I'm really intrigued by Fine Art but I always assume that you don't really need a Fine Art degree to be an Artist as it's more of a hobby... My tutors on my foundation course kept telling me to study Fine Art but I knew I'd graduate and have to work in retail or something. Now I'm more open minded and optimistic and don't see Fine Art as such a bad option... would it make sense to reapply to do Fine Art next year? or study an MA in Fine Art after a BA Illustration? thanks
