What is your favourite thing about Autumn?

For me it is all about the hot chocolate first thing in the morning!

Shorts, still? I stopped wearing shorts this Saturday. D: I walked outside (it was quite late though) but I thought my legs were going to freeze off! :tongue:

:colonhash:

Still not over the fact my havaianas broke last week... such a shock departure. I took that as a sign that summer is most definitely over!

:reaper:

Jacket potatoes with homemade chilli, bonfire night..., boots, autumn leaves and the warm up to Christmas

Aha, the whole office still take the mick out of me! It's not cold :tongue:!
I can also break out my uggs. I don't care what people say. They're comfortable.

So good. :biggrin:
I would like to share an amazing poem by Keats, titled 'To Autumn':

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.
Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drows'd with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twined flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cider-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings hours by hours.
Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,-
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.

Onesies. Wrapping up warm, dark evenings.

I find autumn kinda creepy... And I like it. Kind of reminds me of when I was at school... All the best stuff happened when it was dark (my school stayed later). Was the most fun time. Also reminds me of the film Halloween, before everyone starts dying.
Having a cold, so that i don't need to go school

This was my favourite song at school :biggrin:

Autumn days, when the grass is jewelled
And the silk inside a chestnut shell
Jet planes meeting in the air to be refuelled
All these things I love so well

So I mustn’t forget
No, I mustn’t forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn’t forget.

Clouds that look like familiar faces
And a winter’s moon with frosted rings
Smell of bacon as I fasten up my laces
And the song the milkman sings.

So I mustn’t forget
No, I mustn’t forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn’t forget.

Whipped-up spray that is rainbow-scattered
And a swallow curving in the sky
Shoes so comfy though they’re worn out and they’re battered
And the taste of apple pie.

So I mustn’t forget
No, I mustn’t forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn’t forget.

Scent of gardens when the rain’s been falling
And a minnow darting down a stream
Picked-up engine that’s been stuttering and stalling
And a win for my home team.

So I mustn’t forget
No, I mustn’t forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn’t forget.

I love the universal metaphors she uses - really beautiful and makes me feel very nostalgic for Autumn.
