With Biology, Economics and Geography, would Maths or Statistics be a more suitable A Level to study next year with the aim of doing Economics at a highly respected university, such as Surrey or Bath? Statistics is more relevant to Economics yet Maths is more respected in general; though I believe I am more likely to get a higher grade in Statistics.

It is easy to move from maths to stats, but not conversely. Maths would certainly be preferred to statistics in terms of admissions for economics, some areas of which can become very mathematical.

I would point out also that the maths A-level includes some stats anyway.

Maths.

That being said, if you're looking at economics, Further Maths will help a lot alongside Maths.
